Animated sequel sets Dory on quest to find her family on the Central Coast
–Dory, everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang fish from “Finding Nemo,” sets out on a quest to reunite with her family in our very own Morro Bay in the sequel “Finding Dory,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
Disney debuted the first 27 minutes of “Finding Dory“ at CinemaCon on Wednesday, Apr. 13, to provide a first look at the highly anticipated sequel.
“‘Finding Dory‘ focuses on what happens when the lovable fish with Leonard Shelby short-term memory issues starts to remember,” according to Entertainment Weekly. “Specifically, she remembers her parents, Jenny and Charlie (voiced by Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy), and where she came from: A place called ‘The Jewel of Morro Bay’…Yes, where ‘Finding Nemo’ followed the fish on an oceanic adventure to Sydney, Dory heads straight to California’s Central Coast.”
The latest installment reintroduces the audience to all the favorites from the first movie – Dory, Marlin, and Nemo as they arrive at a Marine Life Institute in Morro Bay, and meet an octopus voiced by Ed O’Neill and sea lions voiced by “The Wire” costars Dominic West and Idris Elba.
Disney’s “Finding Dory” will be released June 17 in theaters.
