Life lessons learned as Linus Jackson battles for redemption in courtroom drama
–Local Creston author Margaux Sky’s new book Linus Jackson is a country drama set in the courtroom with a, “hauntingly tragic love story.”
Sky said the book, though intense, was a pleasure to write. “The story is passionate and romantic but riddled with the human foibles that dog us on a regular basis,” she said. As the protagonists background unravels he faces an uphill battle to prove his innocence.
In 1864, twenty-one-year old Linus Jackson sought revenge on nemesis Manfred Axsom when he went too far in violent benders against Linus. After inflicting mortal payback on Axsom, Linus takes refuge in the hills of Gypsum Colorado with a beautiful woman.
Forty years on, in 1904, an unexpected familial twist exposes Linus’ violent youth. A man of sixty-one and no longer young, he is summoned to court to face a suspicious jury, an irate public, and a damning prosecuting attorney. He can only hope for his family’s forgiveness and understanding of his dark past.
