Fresno man climbs Morro Rock to propose to girlfriend, gets arrested
Man rescued via helicopter after being stranded on steep ledge
–Michael John Paul Banks, a 27-year-old man from Fresno, was arrested after he climbed Morro Rock on Thursday morning to propose to his girlfriend via the Facetime app, according to reports.
Banks was arrested after being rescued via helicopter after becoming stranded on a steep ledge during his descent.
Banks was booked into County Jail on Thursday for charges of being under the influence of and possessing a controlled substance.
Banks will be billed for the chopper ride and other related costs, reports say. Banks’ girlfriend accepted his proposal.
