Morro Bay pairs with Yosemite to attract spring break tourists

Summit to SeaTourism bureaus create ‘Summit to Sea Passport’

–The Morro Bay Tourism Bureau and Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau have partnered together to encourage travel from the summit of Half Dome to the seas of Morro Bay. Together Morro Bay and Yosemite/Mariposa County have created the Summit to Sea Adventure Passport, which overnight guests will be able to purchase for exclusive deals offered at each destination this March and April.

“This is an exciting new venture that came out of a group tour itinerary partnership,” Brent Haugen, executive director for the Morro Bay Tourism Bureau, said. “I was so pleased with the evolution of this relationship and the potential impact for leisure travelers this spring with the Summit to Sea Adventure Passport.”

The passport is a collaboration between both organizations and is available for sale online. This passport features exclusive deals on activities in both destinations including zip lining, boat tours, guided adventure hikes, wine and food tastings, kayak or paddle board rentals, and golfing. The purchase of the passport will also include additional promotions for guests who reserve a two-night, midweek stay at either destination. Morro Bay guests will receive $10 off their second night at a participating Morro Bay lodging property. Yosemite/Mariposa County visitors can choose from a selection of lodging specials and will receive a free park pass with proof of stay at a Mariposa County lodging property.

“18 hotels and nearly 20 businesses in Morro Bay signed up to participate and provide great offers and discounts for use with the passport,” Haugen said. “The goal of the passport is to attract a new level of visitors and was designed to align with the spring break schedule for families.”
