single vehicle collision

Driver entered dirt median to pass a slower moving vehicle, CHP says

–Louise Marcus, a 62-year old woman from West Lake, Oregon, sustained minor injuries as a result of a single vehicle collision that happened earlier today, according to California Highway Patrol.

At approximately 10 a.m. this morning, Marcus drove her 2006 Toyota Corolla onto the dirt median on the Northbound 101 near the exit for Highway 58 to pass a slower moving vehicle at a high rate of speed. As she re-entered the traffic lane, she lost control, traveled across the lanes and struck a dirt embankment, which caused her vehicle to rollover, according to CHP.

Her vehicle came to rest blocking one lane. She was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries, and later released. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor, according to CHP.
