Police search for man who allegedly exposed himself to children
Recent occurrence in Atascadero marks fourth reported incident matching the same description
–Atascadero police officers are searching for a suspect who reportedly exposed himself to a young girl Tuesday afternoon.
An Atascadero mother, Kerrin Hovarter, shared a Facebook message in which she described her 11-year-old daughter being approached by a suspect. She said her daughter was walking home from the bus stop when a man attempted to lure her into his truck, telling him that he was lost and asking her for directions, and offered her money to show him where Traffic Way was. He then proceeded to expose himself to the girl, at which point she ran home “as fast as she could.”
She described the suspect as, “A male in his early to mid twenties with medium body build, short blonde hair wearing prescription eye glasses, a blue button up shirt, driving a new (as in no license plate numbers but instead the paper from the dealership) black truck with light brown trim.”
Atascadero police have had reports of three other instances of a man matching that description exposing himself to children all in the area around Traffic Way area in Atascadero. A similar incident was reported the same day, reports say.
