Tall ship Lady Washington visits Morro Bay
The ship starred as the HMS Interceptor in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean
–The Lady Washington sailed into Morro Bay for a weekend visit on the embarcadero.
The tall ship is a “living laboratory” for maritime historians. The ship is a replica of a wooden sailing vessel built in New England in 1780. The original Lady Washington transported cargo along the eastern seaboard for several decades. She ultimately sank during a typhoon in the South Pacific.
The wooden-hulled brig starred as the fictional HMS Interceptor in the 2003 Disney movie Pirates of the Caribbean, The Curse of the Black Pearl.
