Jason McMaster.

–On Tuesday, at approximately 4:50 p.m., 42-year-old Grover Beach resident Jason McMaster was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and for being a felon in possession of body armor, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the Sheriff’s Gang Task Force conducted a high risk felony traffic stop on a McMaster, who was driving a motorcycle at Highway One and Grand Avenue in Grover Beach. Members of the task force had reason to believe McMaster was distributing narcotics in San Luis Obispo County. As a result of the traffic stop, a small portion of Highway One was blocked to traffic for approximately 10 minutes.

The sheriff’s office conducted the high risk stop based on McMaster’s violent criminal history which includes fighting with law enforcement and making criminal threats. McMaster is also known to be an associate/member of a local criminal street gang, police say.

McMaster was arrested without incident. He was found to be in possession of approximately one ounce of methamphetamine and was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sale and a felon in possession of body armor. No further information is available at this time.
