Holiday lighting ceremony returns Dec. 4
–The City of Atascadero will present Atascadero’s Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony on Friday Dec. 4, beginning at 6:00 p.m., in the Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero. The event is free and everyone is invited to bring their family and friends.
City officials will join community members in the countdown to turn on the festive lights in the trees in the Sunken Gardens.
Entertainment from the Atascadero Community Band along with the Atascadero High School Show and Concert Choirs will be provided. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving via an antique Model A fire truck to the tune of “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and the public will then be invited to visit Santa in the lower Rotunda of the Historic City Hall. The Atascadero Historical Society will be offering evening tours of city hall from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
This year the annual lighting event will also include Atascadero Main Street’s Art & Wine Tour, beginning at 5:30 pm with a stroll through the downtown. Tickets for the Art & Wine Tour, which includes a wine serving station in front of city hall, are available the corner of El Camino Real and Entrada that evening beginning at 5 p.m. Wine as well as hot chocolate will be served on the front steps of city hall.
