‘Movies in the Gardens’ to show Paddington this Saturday
– The City of Atascadero and presenting sponsor Waste Management, together with Idler’s Home and New Times, is presenting the 2015 “Movies in the Gardens,” series, each Saturday through Aug. 22 beginning at approximately 8 p.m. All shows are free to the public and are held in the Sunken Gardens located at 6500 Palma Avenue in Atascadero. Every movie presented in the gardens is family appropriate, rated G or PG, and the public is encouraged to bring their family and friends to enjoy an evening of action packed entertainment and fun.
On Saturday, Aug. 8, they will present the movie Paddington. Beloved bear Paddington gets the big-screen treatment in this family film adapted from Michael Bond’s enduring children’s book series. As the story opens, Peruvian bear Paddington makes his way to the big city, where he quickly gets lost until being taken in by the benevolent Brown family. Meanwhile, as the curious cub settles into his new life of domestic bliss, a scheming museum taxidermist embarks on a personal mission to get him stuffed and mounted.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, low-back chair, and the entire family to relish Atascadero’s warm summer evenings. A snack bar will be open every week with snacks and beverages to purchase, provided by St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
