Charles ‘Charlie’ Angelo Poalillo dies at 86
– Charles “Charlie” Angelo Poalillo, 86, died peacefully June 11, 2015 in the Paso Robles vineyard he planted 35 years ago. Born Sept. 4, 1928 in New Jersey, Charlie moved to California as a young man. He was a successful commercial photographer, respected realtor and enthusiastic grape grower/winemaker.
He is survived by his daughter Susan Joyce (Poalillo) Garretson, son-in-law David Garretson, and son Andrew Charles (Valerie) Poalillo; grandchildren Andrew and Sara Garretson, Vanessa Von Burg, and Ashley (David) Von Edge; great-grandchildren Lane and Scarlett Kingsbury; youngest sister Carol Hessler, and sister-in-law Lyleen (Bob) Ewing.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Joyce Poalillo; son Richard Frank Poalillo, father Frank Angelo Poalillo, mother Mathilde Iovanna, stepfather Albert Iovanna, sisters Adelaide (Eddie) Veltre & Beatrice (Earl) Hein, and brother-in-law Philip Hessler.
Charlie was loved by many and his infectious smile will always shine in our hearts.
