Temperatures heat up, possible showers Tuesday
North County has been experiencing unusual weather, from a tropical thunderstorm sprinkling San Miguel on Friday, to rising temperatures and more possibilities for rain in the coming week. On Sunday, the thermometer topped out at 99 degrees. The forecast for the next week will be in the 90’s.
A low pressure system currently developing over the eastern Pacific will approach the area on Tuesday. As this system moves towards the area tonight and Tuesday it is expected to entrain moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Blanca bringing the possibility of precipitation to the area.
At this time confidence in the exact amount of rainfall expected is low. Initial estimates are for most areas to receive between 0.10 and 0.50 inches of rainfall. Ventura and Los Angeles counties will likely receive the highest totals.
